Move-out
When you move-out, the process follows a clear
and secure routine - just as it should be when
ending a rental agreement.
When you move out, the landlord will inspect the property
for any damage or issues beyond normal wear and tear.
If anything needs to be repaired, the costs will be outlined in a summary
– also known as the final settlement.
With Keyhole Secure, the process is safe and transparent.
The deposit is held in a blocked account and will only be
paid out once both you and your landlord have agreed.

FINAL SETTLEMENT:
After moving out, a summary should be made of any repairs or issues that need to be addressedin the property, along with the associated costs. This summary is shared between the tenant and the landlord.

Agreement
The tenant and landlord agree on how the deposit will be distributed and confirm this in writing.

Set-Off
Once you’ve reached an agreement, the funds will be paid out as agreed.
If the costs exceed the deposit amount, the landlord will send an additional invoice for the remaining balance.

Disagreement
If you cannot reach an agreement on the final settlement, the matter can be taken to the Rent Dispute Tribunal. In the meantime, the funds will remain in the account until a decision is made.
