Once the tenancy has ended and both you and your landlord have approved the final settlement, the deposit is paid to the account you have registered.
Throughout the tenancy, your deposit is held in a restricted security deposit account at the bank. If there is a disagreement about the settlement, the deposit remains in the account until the matter has been resolved in accordance with the applicable rules.
Any interest earned on the security deposit account during the tenancy belongs to you as the tenant, in accordance with the Norwegian Tenancy Act.
