What the landlord pays: Nothing. The landlord gets the same financial security as with a cash deposit.
What the tenant pays: A guarantee premium. The price depends on the guarantee amount and the type of guarantee the landlord has chosen:
- Time-limited guarantee: 14% of the guarantee amount as a one-time premium. The guarantee is valid for 3 years.
- Ongoing guarantee: 6% of the guarantee amount per year, paid monthly for as long as the guarantee is active.
Example: With a guarantee amount of NOK 40,000, an ongoing guarantee costs NOK 200 per month.
